Daisy Girl Scouts from Troop 80794 in York County welcomed Santa to Hanover during the community’s annual Black Friday Christmas parade. The girls donned gingerbread costumes in honor of the approaching holiday season.

Juniors learn about detective work from the experts themselves.
Junior Girl Scouts from Troop 80292 in Adams County received a visit from the Cumberland Township Police Department as part of their detective badge. The girls learned about fingerprinting, coding, the importance of noticing details in a crime scene, and more.
Cadettes help distribute more than 200 Thanksgiving meals.
Cadette Girl Scouts from Troop 20322 in York County helped the Harmony Grove Church Youth Group distribute Thanksgiving meals at New Hope Ministries in Dillsburg, Pa. The girls helped distribute 250 meals in two and a half hours.

Carbon County troop takes field trip to see holiday light display.
Girl Scouts from Troop 30903 in Carbon County made a trip to Allentown, Pa., to see Lights in the Parkway.

Daisies and Brownies learn how to care for animals at local Huskie rescue.
Daisy and Brownie Girl Scouts from Troops 71265 and 70593 in Lancaster County visited the 3 Husketeers Rescue in Spring City, Pa. The Brownies earned their pets badge by learning how to care for the dogs and making them toys while the Daisies earned their considerate and caring petals.
Daisies and Brownies kick off the holidays with Salvation Army tree decorating event.
Daisy and Brownie Girl Scouts from Troop 10840 in Dauphin County decorated a GSHPA tree for the Salvation Army Harrisburg Capital City Region’s third annual Be the Light event. The girls braved the first snow of the season to decorate the tree with GSHPA-green ornaments and a Juliette Gordon Low tree topper.
Huntingdon County troop celebrates Juliette Gordon Low’s birthday with food pantry donation.
Girl Scouts from Troop 40112 in Huntingdon County made 12 birthday kits for a local food pantry in honor of Juliette Gordon Low’s birthday. The troop enjoyed the project so much they plan on doing it again next fall.

Daisies make the world a better place for animals in need.
Daisy Girl Scouts from Troop 10840 in Dauphin County made catnip toys for cats at a local adoption shelter as part of their Make the World a Better Place petal.
Dauphin County Girl Scouts help Santa at local holiday event.
Girl Scouts from Troop 11454 in Dauphin County volunteered at the Hummelstown Holiday Happenings event to assist Santa by handing out candy canes to children who came to visit him. The girls also decorated cookies at the event.
Cadettes and Seniors spread holiday cheer at local senior center.
Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts from Troop 14108 in Dauphin County assembled 72 holiday care packages for senior residents at Homeland Center in Harrisburg. Each package contained a pair of socks, hot chocolate, candy, door hangers, and other fun items to bring holiday cheer to the residents.

York County troop provides face painting for community tree lighting event.
Girl Scouts from Troop 20796 in York County attended the Spring Grove Tree Lighting and volunteered to do face paintings for attendees.
Ambassadors build and install blessing box at local church.
Ambassador Girl Scouts from Troop 60041 in Lycoming County planned, built, and installed a blessing box at the local church where they meet. They completed the project in preparation for beginning their Gold Awards. The troop will pass responsibility of the box on to a sister troop in the hopes the box continues to serve as a resource to their community.

Daisy to Ambassador Girl Scouts from Service Units 624 and 628 in Lycoming County celebrated the holiday season with a holiday trolley ride through South Williamsport’s Candy Cane Lane and Williamsport’s Brandon Park. Afterward, the girls gathered to enjoy hot chocolate, cookies, and a craft. Eighty-one girls from 11 troops participated in the event.
