Girl Scouts take over York Revolution for Cookie Rally

By Catherine Amoriello

We’re past the holidays which means it’s officially the most wonderful time of the year – Girl Scout Cookie Season!

Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania kicked off its Girl Scout Cookie Program Jan. 5 and wasted no time jumping into all the fun Cookie Season brings. On Jan. 8, GSHPA Volunteer Support Coordinators Devon Manning, Lori DeTommaso, and Barbara Tompkins hosted a GSHPA Cookie Rally in York at York Revolution’s ballfield. It was the first in-person rally held since 2019.

The rally saw about 250 Girl Scouts from York, Cumberland, and Adams counties come together to celebrate the start of Cookie Season through eight activity stations. Girls got to participate in cookie sampling, mock cookie booths, crafts, and games, and commemorated the day with some photos at a photo booth.

Check out the photo gallery below to see all the sweet fun this rally had to offer! And stay tuned for more info coming soon about the next cookie rally scheduled for Feb. 12 in Luzerne County.

The Girl Scout Cookie Program gives girls real world experience and helps them learn skills like goal setting, decision making, money management, business ethics, and people skills.

Girl Scout Cookie Season is recognized in our 30-county footprint from Jan. 5 through March 19. To purchase cookies, contact a registered Girl Scout, order online through the Girl Scout Cookie Finder beginning Feb. 17, or visit your local Girl Scouts at a cookie booth stand beginning Feb. 24.
