Juniata and Mifflin County Girl Scouts explore different cultures through World Thinking Day event
By Catherine Amoriello
World Thinking Day is just around the corner, and Service Unit 435 from Juniata and Mifflin counties celebrated the special Girl Scout holiday with their own World Thinking Day event on Feb. 11.
Daisy through Ambassador Girl Scouts gathered to eat, craft, and swap their way across the world to learn about different cultures. Each troop established a station to share information about a country of their choosing through cultural cuisine samples, fact displays, and more. Countries represented included Fiji, France, Italy, Japan, and Slovenia. After the girls visited each station, their families were invited to explore new cultures and learn from their Girl Scouts.
Check out the slideshow below to see the creative and fun ways these Girl Scouts “traveled abroad” this weekend!
