Hitch a bus ride to Camp Small Valley this summer!

This summer Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania (GSHPA) is offering bus transportation to and from Camp Small Valley for week-long camp sessions!

Girls attending Resident Camp, Trip Camp, or Counselor in Training (CIT) Camp will have the opportunity to start their summer experience early by joining fellow campers for a ride to camp from the Harrisburg Mall. Girls will spend the 40-minute ride making new friends, catching up with old camp buddies, and participating in counselor-led songs and games.

“The bus is very much a part of the camp experience. It’s the perfect opportunity for girls to get acquainted with their fellow camp mates and break the ice. For young first-time campers, arriving at camp can be overwhelming. Having new friends by their side before they even set foot on property really helps smooth out that transition,” said Sarah Monelli, GSHPA Property and Outdoor Program Manager.

Bus transportation costs $65 per week and financial aid is available for qualifying campers. Parents/caregivers can secure their girl’s spot on the bus by completing the bus form that will be provided through a confirmation email the Monday or Tuesday following their registration completion date. Campers must be registered for a camp session before purchasing a spot on the bus.

Specific check-in and check-out instructions will be provided two weeks before the camper’s camp session. Buses will depart for camp on Sundays and return to the mall on Fridays.
