Liz Bleacher
Program Coordinator
Liz has worked with GSHPA since 2018 and is on her fourth or fifth career, she has worked as a National Park Ranger, photojournalist, leadership trainer, and library director to name a few. Liz loves working with people and sharing her love of trying new things including her obsession with knitting. There is a whole room full of yarn in her house that her husband and two children have learned to live with (around). Liz lives in York where she volunteers at her local library, and is on the board of directors of Susquehanna Valley Community Mental Health Services, where they help those with complex trauma and addictions, and specialize in serving survivors of sexual exploitation and human trafficking. When not working or volunteering she is exploring and having adventures with her family and always has her knitting.
Cathy Hirko
Director of Marketing and Communications
For the past 20 years, Cathy has managed and coached multiple teams of writers, photographers, digital and print editors, reaching thousands of readers in the southcentral Pennsylvania media market. Before coming to the Girl Scouts, Cathy was the associate publisher and editorial director for the Central Penn Business Journal, Lehigh Valley Business and Central Penn Parent. She and her husband, George have a 19-year-old son and two adorable cats, Pogo and Tuti. In her spare time, Cathy likes to sew and make purses.
